Continuing Mediation Education

The program incorporates mediation theories, principles, skills, as well as current research involving mediation to provide you with different approaches to mediation. The program provides half of your CME requirement. Different programs will be offered throughout the year with a variety of special topics in Mediation. This ICRC Training Program is Florida Bar Certified for 7 credits. Note: This course provides 8 hours of Continuing Mediation Education. The educational program covers necessary topics for CME including: 4 hours of ethics, 2 hours of diversity, and additional hours of special topics for a Civil Track.

Ethics and Diversity Special Topics in Mediation Practice 10am to 5pm

The focus is to enhance mediation and negotiation skills.

Mastering the Art of Mediation: Various Techniques, Models and Approaches in Mediation 9am to 6pm

This educational program is certified and approved by the Florida Supreme Court and meets the training requirements of the Florida Supreme Court for Certification as a County Court Mediator. It is FLORIDA BAR Approved for 24 CLE credits.This 20-hour program is designed to educate you about a variety of mediation theories, principles, and techniques from a variety of mediation models. Other important topics in the program include mediation processes, settlement composition, court processes, code of conduct for mediators, effective negotiation and communication, ethical principles, diversity issues, community resources and mediation business marketing. Program participants will engage in interactive practical skill building sessions throughout the program. This program prepares individuals to work as professional mediators in a number of contexts. The conflict management strategies learned in this training have the potential to improve the conflict resolution management you need for any type of relationship from personal to professional relationships. The workshops help you understand how to promote self-determination, commitment, and transformation during times of conflict. Program participants will be given a number of resources including but not limited to the following: Florida Supreme Court approved County Mediator Manual and copies of the mediation statutes and rules.
