Working and Living in Diverse Environments
This educational program focuses on diversity. The program can focus on contexts such as academia, healthcare, relationships, and organizations. Program participants learn about culture, cultural identity, effective communication behaviors in intercultural interactions and competent communication. Conflict is examined from psychological, social, and cultural perspectives. Effective and ineffective approaches to conflict are discussed. Program participants are trained in problem-solving techniques and conflict resolution techniques. Break out sessions are formed to teach individuals how to apply what they have learned about conflict resolution. Individuals are presented with conflict issues and work through these in groups.
