ICRC on the Today Show

Conflict Resolution Programs

Conflict occurs wherever there are two people, interaction and interdependence; therefore, most individuals can profit from conflict resolution training. Our training programs focus on developmental training, so individuals not only learn the skills that are important, but also the appropriate processes that are useful in conflict resolution. Program participants will have a set of tools to take with them after the training so they will be able to craft their own conflict resolution approach. The sessions have the potential to improve communication and conflict resolution techniques in all forms of relationships (personal and professional). Alternative dispute resolution such as mediation and facilitation are fast growing and prominent methods of resolving conflicts. Mediators and facilitators promote self-determination of their parties so that parties themselves are motivated to reach mutually acceptable and well-informed decisions. Employment, construction, real estate, environmental, healthcare, corporate, personal injury, family, public policy, intellectual property, church and community disputes regularly benefit from conflict resolution approaches.

Communication Programs

Effective communication is a necessary critical skill in contemporary society. Anyone can communicate, but individuals who choose to communicate effectively and with integrity can make a significant impact in their lives and in the lives of others. Wise communication can potentially be transformative to the development of the whole person and to the improvement of relationships. Also, effective communication is essential for succeeding in one’s career and in business contexts. Time after time Fortune 500 Managers have reported that effective communication skills are the most significant set of skills they desire in their employees. ICRC provides educational programs that help program participants develop effective communication across personal, relational, public, and professional settings. We are committed to not only delivering effective content in our trainings, but also to providing program participants with an opportunity to practice what they have learned. An important goal in our trainings is to have participants transfer what they have cognitively learned about communication into effective and meaningful communication practices. We encourage participants to experience positive changes in their lives by practicing effective communication practices.
